U-Pick, Farming and Gardening Related

• pickyourown.org  -  An excellent resource for finding U-pick farms all over the US and around the world.  pickyourown.org also has great information about preserving and canning, picking tips, crop harvest dates, and recipes.
• Tyus Farms  -  Tyus Farms specializes in cantaloupes and watermelons and also offers other produce and a variety of cattle services.  The farm has been family owned and operated in the Sneads area by the Tyus family for over 70 years.

• Town of Sneads - Sneads, Florida is Fox Hollow's hometown.  Our sleepy little town is a sportsman's and outdoor enthusiast's destination, given its proximity to Lake Seminole, the Apalachicola river, Three Rivers State Park, and Ocheesee Pond.  We welcome visitors from all over who enjoy the fishing, boating, kayaking, bird/wildlife watching, camping and hunting opportunities our area has to offer.  If you are looking to get away from big-city hassles and get back to nature (or just want to go incognito somewhere slow), Sneads is your place.
• Lake Seminole Lodge (Marina/Motel/Campground)  -  Located just down Legion Road from Fox Hollow, Lake Seminole Lodge sits on beautiful Lake Seminole near the lakefront Sneads Park.  Big Bass Country, Duck Hunting, Boat Ramp, Full RV Hook-Ups, Tent Camping, Marina, Waterfront Motel on beautiful Lake Seminole in NW Florida.  The place to be for Lake Seminole activities! 
• Three Rivers State Park  -  Three Rivers State Park is situated 2 miles north of Sneads and is a nature-lover's paradise.  The 682-acre park occupies nearly 2 miles of Lake Seminole's shoreline near the Florida/Georgia border.  Three Rivers offers camping, hiking/biking trails, boat ramps, picnic and pavilion areas and a playground.
• Florida Caverns State Park - The only Florida state park to offer cave tours to the public, Florida Caverns State Park (located in nearby Marianna, FL) is a rare jewel also a popular destination for camping, fishing, picnicking, canoeing, boating, hiking, bicycling and swimming in its spring-fed "Blue Hole".  (Guided tours of the cave are offered every Thursday through Monday except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.  No tours on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Call 850-482-9599 for general tour information.) 
• City of Chattahoochee  -  Chattahoochee lies east of Sneads, just over the Apalachicola River.  With its small-town charm still intact, the town is steeped in history and hosts several events every year at River Landing Park on the banks of the Apalachicola.  (I grew up in Chattahoochee and Mother and Daddy still live there. - Susan)  Stroll the sidewalks and take some pictures in the city park featuring local artist Von Tipton's river-life mural, a sparkling fountain, and restored railroad caboose.  Visit Tim the Peanut Man on the east side of town (corner of Hwy. 90 and Maple St.) for hot boiled peanuts and fresh produce, including Fox Hollow muscadines!

•  Jackson County Partners for Pets - (aka: The Phil Rotolo Memorial Animal Shelter) Jackson County's local no-kill animal shelter needs all the support it can get.  Overburdened and underfunded, our local no-kill shelter struggles to provide refuge for abandoned animals in Jackson County.
• Gadsden County Humane Society - Nearby Gadsden County's Humane Society is an active promoter of foster and adoption programs for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals.
